Description

A Fishbowl is a meeting in which individuals present works in progress, and come with specific problems related to that work in progress for which they would like community feedback.

The Philadelphia Camerata is planning its next Fishbowl event for Thursday, 24 September 2009 at 7:00PM at Jeremy Gill's apartment; the focus of this event will be to welcome a fabulous new clarinetist, Bill Kalinkos, to town and to the Philadelphia new music community.

Bill is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and SUNY Stony Brook, and plays with the well-known new music group Alarm Will Sound.

He will introduce himself to us all by playing three works: Charme, by French composer Gerard Grisey (b. 1947), a Chromatic Fantasy by Bach, and Gra by Elliott Carter (b. 1908).

The purpose of this Fishbowl is to design a recital for Bill, featuring music by local Philadelphia composers, so come with ideas for new, recent, or proposed pieces to discuss with or present to Bill.
