The Philadelphia Camerata was established in February 2007 by Greg Wilder and Jeremy Gill as a platform to encourage intelligent discourse relating to matters surrounding the composition, performance, and promotion of contemporary music.

In December 2008, the camerata re-launched as a community-driven portal to become the premier resource for area composers, performers, presenters, and advocates of new music.
